About Bailey

Land development is the only work we do.

Bailey Engineering partners with experienced developers shaping some of the fastest-growing communities in the Treasure Valley. Our projects are visible, long-term, and consequential — neighborhoods people will live in for decades.

We are structured, process-driven, and deadline-focused. Our developer clients expect clarity and execution — and we deliver both.

We are adding a licensed Landscape Architect to put site design where it belongs: inside the engineering, not bolted on after the fact. You would own the landscape, planting, irrigation, and grading-sensitive side of our sites and shape spaces that endure — concept through construction documents — alongside the civil team designing the same ground.

The best site design is integrated, not coordinated after the fact. Bailey Engineering

Section 01

What you would own.

You Would Lead Landscape Architecture From Concept Through Permitting And Construction Documents — Blending Function, Design, And Environmental Sensitivity Across Commercial, Residential, And Mixed-use Development. That Includes

  • Leading the planning and design of landscape architecture for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
  • Preparing and reviewing site plans, landscape and planting plans, irrigation plans, and construction documents
  • Carrying design through permitting and construction, ensuring compliance with local ordinances and client objectives
  • Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our civil engineers, planners, and surveyors to deliver one integrated site solution
  • Coordinating with clients, municipal reviewers, and regulatory agencies through design and approval
  • Mentoring junior staff and supporting emerging designers
  • Contributing to scoping, proposals, budgets, and schedules

At Bailey, "Own It" means you know what is due, who depends on you, and you address issues early — professionally and directly.

Section 02

How we operate.

We operate with structure and predictability. We solve problems directly and professionally. Our core values drive performance:

01

Continuous Improvement

We measure, refine, and strengthen how we deliver.

02

Own It!

We take responsibility for deadlines and outcomes.

03

Do the Math

We think before we draw.

04

We Not Me!

We collaborate above the line.

If you thrive in environments with clear expectations, professional standards, and accountability, you will thrive here.

Section 03

What success looks like (first year).

  • Leading landscape design across multiple concurrent land development projects
  • Landscape, planting, and irrigation packages that clear agency review with minimal first-cycle comments
  • Site design integrated with the civil set from the start — not reconciled at the end
  • Established working relationships with reviewers across Southern Idaho jurisdictions
  • Earned trust with key developer clients
  • Clarity on your long-term trajectory within the firm

Section 04

Growth path.

This role is designed for long-term alignment. Depending on your strengths and ambition, growth may include:

  • Building and leading Bailey's landscape architecture practice
  • Design lead on flagship master-planned communities
  • Mentoring and growing a bench of emerging landscape designers
  • Client relationship expansion and strategic influence on firm design practice

We are building intentionally — and we are interested in designers who think long term.

Section 05

Qualifications.

  • Active Idaho licensure as a Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) — required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
  • Five or more years of professional experience, with a strong portfolio of commercial and residential work in the Treasure Valley
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Land F/X; Civil 3D and GIS a plus
  • Deep understanding of plant materials, irrigation systems, grading, and stormwater-sensitive site design
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and the organization to run multiple deadlines in a client-focused environment
