Baikal Mechanical designs and builds high-performance Air Handling Units (AHUs) for hospitals and universities across New York City.
We’ve proven our technology, now we’re ready to scale into a modular, standardized product line.
We’re looking for a part-time CTO / Head of Product Engineering to lead this transformation, an engineer who loves to build, not maintain.
This position can evolve into a full-time leadership role with equity participation as the company grows.
What You’ll Do- Lead the engineering and product development roadmap for our next-generation AHU platform.
- Define and standardize modular product architecture, frames, coils, fans, controls, panels.
- Guide certification efforts (UL, AMCA, AHRI).
- Oversee mechanical design optimization, manufacturing standards, and performance testing.
- Collaborate with operations and production, from concept to real installations.
- Senior-level mechanical or HVAC engineer with AHU design, manufacturing, or R&D background.
- Strong understanding of airflow, fan systems, coil performance, casing design, and controls integration.
- Experience from companies like Trane, Carrier, Nortek, Greenheck, Daikin, Huntair, or similar is a plus.
- Comfortable working 16–24 hours/week with flexibility for growth.
- Hands-on mindset — creative, curious, and eager to build something lasting.
