What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant Paralegal position at Bahrie Law, PLLC?
Do you want a job or are you looking for a career where the work you do actually matters?
We are a busy, fast-paced Social Security disability law firm looking for a compassionate, motivated, and highly organized Case Manager / Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our team.
Our clients are often facing some of the most difficult and uncertain times in their lives. We help them navigate a complicated legal and administrative process and fight for the benefits they need. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about people, takes pride in their work, and wants to make a difference.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play an important role in helping move client cases forward from start to finish. Responsibilities may include:
- Communicating with clients by phone, email, and other methods
- Gathering and organizing medical, employment, and other case information
- Preparing and reviewing legal documents and case materials
- Managing deadlines, appointments, and case-related tasks
- Communicating with Social Security and other agencies
- Reviewing records and identifying important information
- Keeping detailed and accurate case notes
- Supporting attorneys throughout the disability process
- Helping clients understand what to expect and what they need to do
- Managing a high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail
- Learning the Social Security disability process and continually expanding your knowledge
We’re looking for someone who is:
Compassionate. You understand that our clients aren’t just files or case numbers. They are real people who may be scared, frustrated, or overwhelmed.
Organized. You can keep track of multiple cases, deadlines, details, and moving pieces without letting things fall through the cracks.
Tech-savvy. You’re comfortable learning new software, navigating electronic records, working with multiple systems, and finding ways to use technology to work smarter.
A fast learner. You don’t need to know Social Security law on day one. You do need to be willing and excited to learn.
A strong communicator. You can communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, medical providers, government agencies, and coworkers.
Detail-oriented. Small details matter in legal work, and you understand the importance of accuracy.
A problem-solver. When something doesn’t go as planned, you don’t simply stop—you figure out what needs to happen next.
A team player. We work together, help each other, and understand that the success of the firm depends on everyone doing their part.
Someone who wants a career. We are looking for someone who wants to learn the field, grow with our firm, take on increasing responsibility, and become an integral part of our team. This isn’t intended to be a stepping-stone position.
We value compassion, accountability, initiative, professionalism, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
This is a position for someone who wants to be challenged. Some days will be busy—really busy. You will have a lot of responsibility, but you’ll also have the opportunity to develop valuable legal knowledge and skills and see firsthand how your work impacts people’s lives.
Experience in a law office, Social Security disability, personal injury, workers’ compensation, veterans’ benefits, insurance, healthcare, or another client-focused environment is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
If you’re the person who cares about getting it right, wants to help people, enjoys learning, embraces technology, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking for somewhere to build a career, we’d love to hear from you.
Come be part of a team that does meaningful work for people who need an advocate in their corner.
