Job Purpose:
Researching and recommending commercially appropriate Project, RoRo and Breakbulk rates by conferring competitive market conditions with shippers, freight forwarders, sales department and agency sales personnel.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop and Approve Rates
Develop non-published project and underdeck cargo tariff freight rates and rules for underdeck cargoes including foreign-to-foreign cargo. Approve rates in consultation with sales/account executives.
Research Rates
Researches markets conditions by liaising with sub-agents, shippers, freight forwarders, Marketing Department and Sales Personnel to determine the commercially optimal freight rates.
Documentation
Oversees proper booking and documentation on all underdeck cargo. Files and maintains freight rates. Maintains manual tariffs and ensures that tariffs are updated promptly.
Checks Booking Status
Liaises with all departments regarding vessel booking status, schedules/changes and sailings and inducement calls.
Leadership
Effectively supports employees to meet daily requirements/deadlines through addressing queries, resolving day-to-day work-related issues and providing technical on-the-job.
Advises functional teams or projects on his/her area of specialization and is able to lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience of commercial shipping experience, corporate level pricing experience in container and BB/RoRo cargoes traveling in the ME/ISC/MED trade lanes.
