This role is key in maintaining the flow of orders, checking accuracy and presentation, and ensuring guests receive their meals quickly and correctly. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at communication, and keeps calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen by calling out orders, checking dish status, and alerting waitstaff when dishes are ready.
- Notify waitstaff when menu items are unavailable and relay special requests from guests to the kitchen.
- Monitor portion sizes and plating to ensure they meet restaurant standards.
- Prioritize and track orders to ensure timely service.
- Inspect dishes for cleanliness, presentation, and correct temperature before serving.
- Add finishing touches to plates, such as garnishes, and ensure a polished presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep, storage, and service areas.
- Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Assist staff across all areas as needed to support smooth service.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally on behalf of the kitchen staff.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Keen eye for detail and commitment to quality.
- Team-oriented with the ability to coordinate between staff members.
- Flexibility to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler’s Card (or the ability to obtain one).
- Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. under State and Federal guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
- Work in a hot, busy, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
