We are seeking an experienced(preferably Certified or Licensed) Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. This position requires minimum 2 years of experience if you are certified/licensed or 5 years otherwise. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, dental, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
- Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff during examinations and treatments.
- Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage pet care routines including feeding, grooming, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs to ensure optimal animal health.
- Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and document procedures accurately in compliance with clinic protocols.
- Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology, assisting with cleaning, polishing, and applying treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with veterinary terminology, critical care techniques, and advancements in animal physiology.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience demonstrating knowledge of animal care routines and facility maintenance.
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology related to animal anatomy, physiology, and medical procedures.
- Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis.
- Knowledge of animal catheterization procedures and restraint techniques for various species.
- Familiarity with X-ray operation and anesthesia.
- Excellent animal handling skills combined with a compassionate approach to pet care and owner communication.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks performed.
