Job Description
BAE Systems is hiring a Supply Chain Compliance Manager to support our Ordnance Systems Inc. business. The role will report directly to the Director of Purchasing & Planning. The Supply Chain Compliance Manager will work closely with the procurement staff and management to ensure departmental compliance to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), Public Law, and BAE Systems policies and procedures.
Location/Travel/Schedule:
- Remote work will be considered for this role, but on-site or hybrid is preferred at either the Kingsport, TN or Radford, VA locations.
- This position will require up to 25% of travel.
- This role works a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Supply Chain Compliance group that performs small business compliance, file reviews, procedure updates/creation, supplier onboarding, training, cybersecurity compliance, expediting, subcontract closeouts, and materials compliance.

- Build and maintain strategic relationships internally and externally to support business objectives.
- Lead Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) and other external audits, primarily with DCAA and DCMA.
- Contractual Interpretation/Application- Interpret and apply binding agreement language, i.e., Federal Acquisition Regulations, Department Of Defense Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards, etc.
- Technical Understanding- Functional knowledge of unique and different programs. Capable of understanding at a general level the technical requirements of the programs.
- Lead internal audits related to the purchasing system and support internal audits related to delegation of authority and other business systems.
- Create, maintain, and manage the approval of departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Provide training framework for procurement and subcontracts personnel related to both internal policies/procedures and applicable external laws and regulations.
- Provide training to other functional groups to ensure appropriate awareness of procurement policies and procedures, relating to their functions.
- Lead systems support practices and create and maintain reporting framework and mechanisms to collaborate and share best practices across similar BU’s and sites.
- Accountable for the quality and compliant performance of the assigned group, as well as the proactive coordination of the internal team support necessary for success.
- Change Agent- Support change management, process enhancement, and continuous improvement initiatives to harmonize processes and streamline workflows.
- Coordination- Possess the ability to coordinate processes, people, and binding agreements.
- Administrative- Well organized and detail oriented.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in Supply Chain/Procurement
- Experience in Compliance/Auditing
- Experience in Defense (DoD)/Government Contracting/Subcontracting
- Experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- Experience in Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR)
- Superior knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Public Law, and Procurement Policies and Procedures
- Strong Negotiation skills
- Strong Interpersonal Communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Graduate Degree a plus
- Professional Certification a plus
- Expertise in FAR/DFARS Compliance a plus
- Government Buying/Subcontracts experience a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously a plus
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional departments a plus
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97157 - $165167
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
