Senior Project Manager / Site Manager

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Program Area Manager) to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Communication, integrity, competence, and the ability to work well with others are important traits we would expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.

This position is responsible for contract execution and performance as well as executing the requirements of BAE Systems’ Senior Site Manager (SSM) in Kings Bay, GA. The SSM is responsible for managing a multifaceted workforce consisting of 65 employees supporting multiple contracts and locations, in support of Portfolio Acquisition Executive Strategic Systems Programs (PAESSP). The work in this area of the program covers IT support, Fleet support, warehouse operations and Facility Predictive Maintenance.

About the program
Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy’s Strategic PAESSP continually since the program’s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and as the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation’s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a truly unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.

Technical knowledge and proficiency

• Proficiency in applications word processing, spreadsheet, and database development programs to prepare appropriate reports and documents for internal and external use.
• Analytical and technical problem solving for effective decision making and for making recommendations in an established reporting chain.

Communication

• Excellent Communication Skills both orally and in writing.
• Effective and proper communication is required for interfacing with a range of seniority of people including company employees, government, military, and prime contractor personnel to effectively coordinate the performance and responses in a variety of work environments and locations.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $122400 - $208080

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
