Project Delivery Supervisor

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Project Delivery Supervisor who is well-versed in both Agile and waterfall project management methodologies to support our work on the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) contract. This project management position leads a team of project support professionals and contributes to the success of a technical PMO by providing operational oversight and supervisory management for standardized, reliable, and disciplined project execution, leveraging cross-functional alignment to ensure the successful delivery of major projects across a large and complex portfolio. The successful candidate will play a significant role in driving project management excellence and delivery performance across the technical program portfolio.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

• Data Analysis
  • Collect and analyze project data (e.g., timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and performance metrics) from various sources
  • Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement based on data analysis
  • Generate reports and visualizations to present insights to project managers and stakeholders
• Supervision/People Management
  • Manage a team of project support professionals and mentor junior staff
  • Coordinate resource allocation across the portfolio
  • Provide performance feedback and support professional development
• Communication and Collaboration
  • Facilitate project meetings and document action items
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverable deadlines are met
  • Effectively communicate project status updates to stakeholders
• Process Improvement/Governance
  • Analyze project management processes and identify areas for optimization
  • Recommend improvements to project management methodologies and tools
  • Identify and lead initiatives to develop automation of processes and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, processes, and technical standards
• Documentation Management
  • Support the maintenance of comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes
  • Develop and update project knowledge databases

Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy’s (USN’s) Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program’s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapons System (SWS), a defense system that is critical to our national security. SSP has maintained and upgraded the sea-based SWS for more than six decades, and we have been there every step of the way: it is the ultimate stealthy weapons system, and is one leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. Containing over 70% of our nation’s nuclear arsenal, its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. Development of the Columbia class submarine—the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed—and the next D5LE2 system is underway, and rollout will begin within the next decade. The USN projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree
• 6 years of experience as a project manager on DoD/DoW programs
• At least 1 year of experience as a people manager with 3 direct reports
• Minimum active final Secret clearance
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience establishing PMO templates, guidelines, and processes for project oversight
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Jira or other dashboarding tool
• Experience building or scaling a PMO
• Experience supporting U.S. Navy commands/programs

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
