As a Principal Server Administrator, you'll be responsible for provisioning, operating, and maintaining on-premises and cloud-based server environments, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with federal policies and standards. You'll leverage hybrid infrastructure expertise to optimize performance and scalability to support mission-critical operations in a high-stakes government setting. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include provisioning new server resources, operating and monitoring server infrastructure, and maintaining server systems through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, backups, and recovery procedures.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6 years of experience in server administration, with hands-on expertise in both on-premises and cloud environments for large-scale enterprises
- Proven track record provisioning, operating, and maintaining hybrid server infrastructure in regulated or government settings
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
- Strong knowledge of federal IT policies (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and ITIL practices for service operations
- Proficiency in server OS (e.g., Windows Server, Linux/RHEL) and tools for monitoring/automation (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Nagios)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to manage complex, high-availability systems under pressure

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), MCSA/MCSE (Microsoft), or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
- Experience supporting DoD or large federal customers, including hybrid cloud migrations and compliance audits
- ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification, with focus on infrastructure management
- Background in scripting for automation and integration with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow
- Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server , CISSP for secure administration)
- MCSA, VCP, or VCAP certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
