Job Description
- Must have a thorough knowledge of generators, transformers and AC and DC power
- Must have a thorough knowledge of wire sizes and the capacity of each.
- Must be capable of properly setting up, and using electrical test equipment (i.e. voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, phase rotation meters and meggers).
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting blue prints and wiring diagrams.
- Must have the ability to conduct tests or checkpoints on completed work.
- Must have some leadership and supervisory abilities, and supervises small work groups as required.
- Must be able to determine material and man power requirements.
- Must have significant experience in marine electrical work.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits aboard ship and at the shipyard facility.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform complex hook ups and installations on Navy shipboard equipment. Should have working knowledge of Navy Standard Items.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must demonstrate the proper use of hand tools and test equipment and knowledge of safety in relation to electrical circuits.
- Must demonstrate reliability in the performance of overtime and critical jobs.
- The level of proficiency and experience is determined by and at the discretion of the Electrical Manager.
- Must be aware of, and comply with the Company’s safety rules.
- May be assigned miscellaneous tasks outside craft as required.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements and have the proper tools that are listed in the tool requirements.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- A high school diploma or GED, followed by a 4-5 year apprenticeship program that combines paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $78520

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
