Join the BAE Systems' team and help shape National Security as a member of the Infrastructure Management Center. As a senior leader in our dynamic Infrastructure Management Center, you'll play a critical role in tackling complex technical challenges that support national security. You'll spearhead electrical engineering initiatives driving modernization efforts for nuclear missions, ammunition plant infrastructure, and other vital projects. Additional requirements:
- Work with a multi-discipline engineering team to perform plant and project engineering. Select construction materials and methods, write specifications, supervise and prepare electrical drawings, control cost, and manage work to meet project schedules
- Perform electrical engineering analyses/calculations for one or more of the following: High Voltage Power Distribution systems, Mechatronic Components, Sensors, AC<->DC Systems, PLC’s and Controls systems.
- Electronic panel design for small and large scale systems, component selection and layout. (Auto Cad, Auto CAD Electrical, Inventor, Inventor Electrical)
- Power Calculations for low and high voltage equipment (480-120VAC) (48-5VDC). Understanding of 3 phase and single phase machinery
- Conduct inspections of existing facilities such as buildings and equipment to determine their integrity and safety. Make recommendations concerning any needed modifications
- Support development of plans and schedules for the construction phase of projects ensuring that materials, equipment, and personnel will be available to meet project schedules
- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and good construction practices and within cost during the execution phase
- Create detailed project proposals, scopes of work and estimates
- Review and approve design packages from equipment suppliers and design firms providing constructability input
- Execute commissioning plan and maintain documentation as needed
- Consider safety in all aspects of work and design

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (may consider a closely related degree)
- 7 yrs technical experience (5yrs with MS) in Infrastructure electrical design and construction
- Broad electrical engineering experience in at least one of these areas: high voltage substation design, facility electrical supply, or electrical hardware (motors and pumps) integration.
- Ability to review documentation such as, but not limited to, schematics, diagrams, equipment data sheets, hazard area classification drawings, and electrical analysis or studies developed by other engineers and designers
- Working knowledge of, and ability to correctly interpret applicable codes and standards
- Working knowledge of electrical design software for efficient production of engineering work (AutoCAD, REVIT, MATLAB etc.)
- Ability to convert between high and low power outputs
- Ability to direct design teams and external design firms and create required engineering documentation using Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project.
- Ability to interface effectively with site operations and maintenance teams.
- Must be able to obtain Secret (or higher) security clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Professional Engineer License
- Skilled in principles of facility construction/sustainment activities
- Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specification (UFGS) and ASHRAE Standards
- Experience in the design and construction of chemical manufacturing facilities that involve the use of acids, bases, and solvents for the production of energetic materials.
- Experience in the design and construction of chemical facilities
- Active Secret clearance, Ability to obtain Top Secret
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
