Schedule: On-site, full-time, 9/80
Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST
Additional Coverage: Alternating Friday and weekend coverage as required
Position Summary
The Dock Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing all inbound and outbound dock activity to ensure smooth, timely, and efficient material flow. This role serves as the central point of communication between transportation providers, warehouse and shipping operations, and internal departments. The position is fully on-site and plays a key role in supporting daily shipping and receiving operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage all inbound and outbound freight appointments.
- Coordinate dock availability with warehouse and shipping teams.
- Communicate with carrier dispatchers, drivers, and internal stakeholders regarding arrival times, delays, and changes.
- Maintain accurate dock schedules and update systems in real time.
- Prioritize shipments based on operational needs and production requirements.
- Monitor dock activity to prevent congestion and improve turnaround times.
- Ensure compliance with site safety, security, and shipping procedures.
- Track missed appointments and carrier performance metrics.
- Support coverage every other weekend as needed.
- Generate reports related to dock utilization and shipment flow.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and operational issues quickly and professionally.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, receiving, or warehouse scheduling.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, transportation management systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Experience in a manufacturing or defense-related environment.
- Familiarity with dock operations, freight handling, and carrier coordination.
- Experience working with high-volume shipping and receiving operations.
- On-site position based in the Security Command Center.
- Requires occasional walking between offices and periodic standing outdoors in all weather conditions to direct drivers through site entrances.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to support operational needs, including every other Friday (5:30am-1:30pm) and rotational weekend coverage.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $57685 - $92297
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
