At BAE Systems, we believe in work-life balance, and this position works a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. We prefer this position be on-site 50% or more, though remote work will be considered.

BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors, is hiring a Configuration Analyst II to support Configuration Management activities on Combat Vehicle Programs. This role can be on-site or hybrid on-site (66% or more on-site) and will be on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

As a Configuration Analyst, you will be expected to be able to perform tasks and scope associated to hardware configuration management and engineering bill of material management. You will:
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluates Configuration Changes and Bill of Material (BOM) efforts in support of multiple, significant developmental and production programs within BAE Systems guidelines and U.S. Government specifications
  • Execute assigned programs within cost and schedule constraints.
  • Establish, maintain, and promote good customer relationships.
  • Ensure the coordination of work tasks with customer representatives and ensure customers are informed on status and progress of assigned programs.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Review documentation and apply knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine effect on the BOM.
  • Coordinate modification records for Changes and BOM management control.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and standards to ensure team optimization.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members.
  • Ensure CDM efforts meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain configuration baselines and associated CSA information.
  • Support the development, delivery, and customer review of program documentation/data deliverables and status accounting updates.
  • Review and prepare Engineering Change Request/Proposals, Notices of Revision, Engineering Release Records, and Requests for Variance (RFV).


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and two years experience OR an Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of Configuration Management (CM) principles, Bill of Material (BOM) Structuring Expertise, and basic engineering background
  • Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) and / or Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) experience
  • Product Life-Cycle Management (PLM) experience
  • General understanding of Engineering / Manufacturing / Operations processes
  • Experience with the use of a Product Data Management (PDM) system is desirable, otherwise must be willing to learn the PDM tool
  • Excellent computer skills, with a solid understanding of the typical PC applications especially MS Office Excel and Word
  • Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organization skills
  • Interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience applying industry standards and meeting government requirements
  • General knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes and documentation including military standards MIL-HDBK-61, MIL-STD-31000, industry CM standard SAE EIA-649, and drawing standard ASME Y14.100
  • Working knowledge in US Army product development, processes and standards pertaining to engineering to ensure accuracy for production readiness
  • Extensive expertise of design engineering, manufacturing, material planning; production planning purchasing principles and discipline of CM including Standards/Specifications. Ability to see the relationships of these functional areas and make decisions based on the business impacts to these area
  • Familiarity with PLM, ERP or Oracle systems
  • Formal training and/or certification in Configuration Data Management (CDM)
  • Familiarity with CMMI requirements


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
