In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program. In this position, you will be supporting the Ordnance Systems Business at our Kingsport, TN facility. This position will be onsite at our Kingsport facility. Relocation will not be offered, and housing is not provided. This is a part-time Accounting Internship with the possibility of continuing through the year.
As an Accounting / Finance intern, you will:
- Support the Accounting team in everyday Accounting and Compliance processes
- Report to the Assistant Controller and will work directly with various leaders and specialists.
- Have an interest in developing professional skills in Accounting, Finance and Government Compliance in a manufacturing environment in the Defense industry
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in an Accounting, Finance or related field
- Must be able to work a minimum of 16 hrs per week if internship is continued throgh the school
- Solid computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to multi-task and work efficiently under deadlines
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Solid knowledge of accounting theory
- Ability to follow directions
- Attention to detail
- Sound Professional Judgement
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $34830 - $46980
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
