Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Taproom Manager to oversee daily operations of our taproom. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive knowledge of craft beer and the "taproom experience". This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining operational excellence within a fast-paced, taproom environment. The Taproom Manager will be responsible for supervising all aspects of the taproom, including staff training, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with alcohol and food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the taproom team to deliver outstanding customer service and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Oversee beverage service, and bar operations, including managing the bar area and ensuring proper procedures.
- Utilize POS systems (we use Square) order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Conduct staff training on craft beer service, customer service, POS usage, and operational procedures to promote a high standard of service.
- Monitor inventory levels, control stock, and coordinate with vendors for supplies to ensure product availability.
- Manage shift schedules, assign duties, and supervise team members to optimize productivity.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food and alcohol safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and foster a welcoming environment for guests.
- Event planning such as weekly trivia and music events, private party bookings and major seasonal events.
- Support budgeting efforts by tracking sales data and controlling costs related to food and beverage inventory.
Experience
- Proven management experience in the food and beverage service industry, particularly within the craft beer / taproom environment.
- Extensive background in restaurant management with familiarity in kitchen management, hospitality management, or food service management roles.
- Experience with POS systems.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising staff, conducting interviews, training & development programs, and team management.
- Knowledge of alcohol and food safety standards and regulations within the hospitality industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
