About the Role
Badger Drilling LLC is a growing underground utility construction contractor specializing in open-cut pipe installation and underground utility construction on municipal and commercial projects across Florida. We are looking for an experienced Pipe Foreman to lead field crews, drive project execution, and uphold our standards for safety, quality, and efficiency on every job site.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows underground work inside and out and can direct a crew with confidence while keeping projects on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct field crews on open-cut pipe installation projects from mobilization through closeout Oversee installation of water mains, sewer lines, and force mains — ensuring work is completed per plans, specs, and project requirements Coordinate daily crew assignments, equipment usage, and material needs with the Project Manager and VP of Field Operations Conduct and document daily safety toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and site inspections — enforcing OSHA and company safety standards at all times Read and interpret construction drawings, utility plans, and field markings Monitor production progress against the project schedule and communicate delays or issues promptly Ensure proper installation depths, grades, and utility separation requirements are met on every job Maintain accurate daily field reports, crew time records, and material usage logs Coordinate with inspectors, utility locators, and other trades on active job sites Operate or oversee operation of excavation equipment, including excavators, mini-excavators, and pipe-laying equipment as needed Mentor pipe layers and equipment operators — building crew skill and accountability Report equipment issues, site hazards, and project concerns to management in a timely manner
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in underground utility construction with demonstrated foreman or crew lead experience Proven ability to lead and manage a field crew effectively on active construction projects Experience with open-cut pipe installation — water mains, sewer lines, and force mains strongly preferred CDL required Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grading sheets, and utility drawings Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and trench safety requirements Must be 21 or older Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions Strong communication skills — able to relay information clearly to crew, management, and inspectors
