Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and components for menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications
- Assist in cooking and assembling dishes with attention to presentation and quality standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain safety and sanitation standards
- Support kitchen staff with meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels
- Ensure adherence to dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary needs when required
- Support catering events or special meal requests as needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, food service, or restaurant kitchens is highly desirable
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary practices
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation and food handling
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with catering or serving is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward collaboration
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; prior kitchen or culinary experience is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates
