Responsibilities
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
- Prepare ingredients and cook food items according to recipes and safety standards
- Handle food safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Support kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations
- Assist with food presentation and plating for service
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure quality and safety of meals
- Support catering events and special meal requests as needed
- Maintain proper knife skills for efficient food prep and cooking tasks
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Skills
- Experience in dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred
- Background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, or food service is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus
- Culinary experience including meal preparation, food industry knowledge, and catering is beneficial
- Excellent knife skills and ability to handle various kitchen tools safely
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
