What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker position at Bad Luck Burger Club?
Food Truck Crew Member
Company Description
Bad Luck Burger Club is an independent smash burger company based in Nashville, Tennessee. We're known for simple food done exceptionally well, fast service, and creating an experience people actually want to come back for.
We operate a high-volume food trailer while preparing to open our first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Our team is small, hardworking, and cross-trained. There are no "that's not my job" positions here—everyone cooks, everyone serves guests, everyone cleans, and everyone helps each other.
If you're looking for a slow kitchen where you stay on one station all day, this probably isn't the right fit. If you enjoy staying busy, learning multiple skills, and being part of a tight-knit team, we'd love to meet you.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Nashville, TN.
Working in a food trailer is different than working in a traditional restaurant. The space is small, the pace is fast, and the kitchen gets hot—especially during Tennessee summers. We work shoulder-to-shoulder through busy lunch and dinner rushes, and every team member is expected to jump in wherever they're needed.
This is a fully cross-trained position. Every crew member is responsible for both kitchen and guest-facing responsibilities, including:
- Cooking burgers, tots, and other menu items to Bad Luck Burger Club standards
- Taking guest orders and providing friendly, energetic customer service
- Running the register and processing payments
- Assembling and expediting orders accurately
- Stocking, prep work, and opening/closing duties
- Maintaining a clean, organized, food-safe workspace throughout every shift
- Working efficiently during high-volume service while communicating clearly with teammates
Success in this role comes from being adaptable, dependable, and willing to switch between cooking and customer service at any moment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in restaurants, food trucks, or other fast-paced food service environments is preferred
- Comfortable interacting with customers while delivering excellent hospitality
- Able to multitask without sacrificing quality or speed
- Strong work ethic and a team-first attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Comfortable working in a small, hot kitchen for extended periods
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Food safety knowledge is a plus, but we'll train the right person
You'll Probably Love This Job If You...
- Like staying busy instead of watching the clock
- Enjoy talking with people as much as cooking great food
- Want to learn every aspect of operating a successful food business
- Take pride in working hard with a team that has each other's backs
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment where every shift is different
You Probably Won't Enjoy This Job If You...
- Prefer doing the same task all day
- Don't enjoy interacting with customers
- Struggle with working in hot environments
- Need constant supervision or reminders
- Get overwhelmed when things get busy
- We're building a team of people who care about great food, great hospitality, and helping each other succeed. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
