Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Rental Equipment Maintenance/Utility Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal operation of a wide range of rental equipment Your expertise will help keep our fleet in top condition, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
- Perform minor repairs of rental equipment including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, plumbing and tagging of equipment for rental ready status.
- Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Check equipment for damage, hours used, mileage and fuel level upon return to the branch. Inspect rental equipment for safety decals, safety compliance, and ensure that equipment is in proper working order. Report machine condition to management.
- Clean all equipment and prepare for rental.
- Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner daily.
- Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy.
- Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment, construction equipment, and various pieces of machinery.
- Review orders and stage equipment for drivers.
- Maintain, clean, and organize yard and work area.
- Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all company owned fleet at respective branch.
- Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes company rental quality and efficiency standards.
- perform routine maintenance and repairs on all company fleet equipment and trucks independently.
- Perform basic repairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments independently.
- Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted basic services.
- Assist shop lead with customer damage estimates and repairs.
- Enter and review work orders and complete part ordering.
- Recondition and replace basic assorted parts of the equipment.
- Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear of the equipment.
- Perform timely and detailed service reports and repair log.
- Follows all company procedures and protocols.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, AC systems, varied brands of equipment that the company rents.
- Must have own tools.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
