Greenhouse & Nursery Team member
Job Description:
Backyard Blessings Garden Center is looking for motivated, people and plant enthusiast employees to assist in the greenhouse and nursery. An ideal candidate will accurately perform sales and customer service duties, receiving and stocking inventory, maintaining displays, plant care, and operate a cash register.
The basic duties and requirements for a greenhouse and nursery team member are:
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service.
- Maintain healthy plants by providing correct care and placement.
- Design and build plant displays in a clean and efficient manner.
- Ensure displays are kept clean and free of debris.
- Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions.
- Maintain proper accountability of the cash register and all equipment.
- Display a friendly and outgoing attitude to the customers and coworkers.
Compensation:
$14-22 per hour.
Position Type:
Full Time or Part Time. Seasonal
Job Requirements:
To be considered for this position you MUST:
- Have constant, reliable transportation.
- Have a positive attitude and a desire to be your best self while at work.
- Be able to pass background check.
- Be willing to work hard including in the outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
- Basic plant knowledge or the willingness to learn
- Ability to stand on your feet for up to 10 hours a day
- Ability to work with a cash register or willingness to learn
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to stoop or bend repeatedly
- Be willing to get dirty as we work in the outdoor environment.
- Be able to lift 25 pounds, sometimes repeatedly.
