What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skid Loader Operator position at Backwoods Services WI LLC?
As a Skid Loader Operator your key responsibility will be to operate equipment on our job site. As the operator, you will also direct one person who travels with you to various projects. Jobs you perform will include primarily gravel driveway/road installation, building pads, land clearing, and grading. This role is ideal for an experienced operator who takes ownership of job quality, efficiency, and mentoring a teammate. The position is full time from spring to late fall. If pursued, opportunities in snow removal are also available.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment daily (excavator, skid steer, etc.)
- Direct one field technician to help you complete projects efficiently.
- Read and follow grades, stakes, and job specifications.
- Maintain high standards for workmanship and site cleanliness.
- Communicate progress, needs, and issues with the Operations Manager.
- Represent the company professionally on job sites.
- Follow instruction from the Operations Manager.
Requirements:
- Preferred heavy equipment operating experience. Preferred excavation, grading, or site work experience.
- Landscaping experience is a plus, not required.
- Understanding of grading.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus, not required).
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
