What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Staff Accountant position at Backd Business Funding?
Who You Are:
We are looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to join our team to help ensure the accuracy of a variety of financial records and daily operations tasks related to the financial department.
What You Will Do:
- Maintaining financial reports, various financial records, and general ledger accounts
- Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close process
- Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing and treasury functions
- Maintaining customer data in our loan management software
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines
- Responding to information requests (internal and external), reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
- Assisting the CFO as needed with any ad hoc requests
- Hours: Monday - Friday (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
- In-office position; NOT REMOTE
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- Any accounting experience is a plus.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting and financial reports
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (mainly MS Excel)
