We are hiring for a trained and motivated Low Voltage Cable Technician. This is a hands on role that requires strong technical knowledge, problem solving and must be able to use power and hand tools.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Experience with Commercial and Residential projects. Projects consisting of: Pathway set-up, cable rough-in, dressing cable and trim-out. Terminations of RJ45 and Keystone Jacks.
- MDF/IDF set-ups, Installation of AP's, Security cameras, Access controls and knowledge with configurations helpful.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Must understand and install a structured cabling system. Pathways, spaces and horizontal cabling. Assembling, installing, testing, trouble shooting, terminating and maintaining low voltage systems cable, equipment, components and devices associated with equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans. Understanding applicable codes, standards and industry best practices.
- Must understand, have the ability to pull and terminate Low voltage cable - Cat 6, Fiber-optic, coax.
- Responsible for insuring all materials, equipment and supplies are available for projects.
- Familiar with basic hand tools and mechanical infrastructure.
- Be highly motivated and have good organizational skills. We are looking for honest, good work ethic and care in delivering great quality results.
- Must be able to lift 75 lb.
- Climb ladders/heights.
- Experience with Scissor lift and Boom lift.
- Work in and around confined spaces and follow all related safety operations for assigned tasks.
- Maintaining clean work area.
- Securing company tools daily.
- Handling and transporting material to job site locations.
- Preparing the work area.
- Unloading and loading of ladders, cable, equipment.
Requirements:
- Communicate with strong written and verbal English skills
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional dress and demeanor
- Reliable Transportation with good driving record
- Successful completion of pre-employment criminal and driving history check and drug screening
- 2 years minimum experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
