What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Backal Hospitality Group?
The Backal Hospitality Group is seeking a detail-oriented and capable individual to join our team of accounting hospitality professionals as a Bookkeeper.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance this role will provide support to a multi-unit operation in managing daily financials to ensure operational efficiency and streamlining of standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to sales tracking, expense management, bank reconciliation, accounts payable, general ledger entries, and recording of daily sales and reconciliation of POS reports.
A successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of restaurant-specific accounting, including food cost, beverage cost, COGS, and inventory tracking, Familiarity with sales tax, use tax, and local/state reporting requirements and displaying a high level of discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information.
A minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience in restaurant/hospitality bookkeeping and accounting is required, couple with proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft office programs and prior knowledge of a POS system such as Toast is required.
