What You’ll Do

As a Periodontal Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our periodontist and clinical team throughout surgical and nonsurgical periodontal procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the periodontist during periodontal and implant procedures
  • Performing preoperative and postoperative patient care duties
  • Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining a sterile clinical environment
  • Supporting an unobstructed operative field using suction, retractors, and irrigation
  • Preparing, inspecting, and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Obtaining and processing dental radiographs and imaging as needed
  • Monitoring patient comfort and status during procedures
  • Reviewing postoperative instructions and reinforcing care guidance with patients
  • Completing accurate clinical documentation and patient narratives
  • Coordinating supplies and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Supporting additional clinical responsibilities as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Registered Dental Assistant license in the state of Massachusetts (required)
  • Massachusetts Dental Radiology Certification (required)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on patient safety and infection control
  • Excellent manual dexterity and clinical precision
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced periodontal setting
  • Professional, calm, and compassionate demeanor with patients
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort with clinical documentation
  • Prior periodontal or surgical dental assisting experience is beneficial
