Job Summary
PTR Baler, a division of Komar Industries, is a world leader in the waste equipment industry. The company manufactures and services balers, compactors, and provides parts and resources to customers.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling components and products efficiently and accurately within a fast-paced factory environment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and experience working in manufacturing facilities. The Assembly Technician plays a vital part in ensuring product quality and timely delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory.
- Delivering production materials and supplies where needed.
- Staging finished product final distribution.
- Assemble painted components into machines.
- Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly.
- Follow detailed work instructions and blueprints to ensure precise assembly of products
- Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify defects or inconsistencies
- Discuss assembly and production issues with the Supervisor.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues that may arise during assembly processes
- Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.
- Maintain consumable inventory levels.
- Operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment safely when necessary to move materials
- Maintain a good attendance record and be able to work overtime as needed.
- Maintain a good safety record.
Qualifications:
- High School or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, factory work, or warehouse environments preferred
- Can read basic blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to use tape measure, layout out, and set assemblies.
- Electrical and hydraulic experience is an asset.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools, wrenches, pneumatic impact, and cordless drills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- 2 years of forklift experience, certification preferred.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks as needed
