We are seeking a full-time Commission Only Wholesale Wine Sales Representative to provide a consistent increase in new clients, expert guidance, foster lasting client relationships, and drive sales with increasing performance in a professional wholesale environment.
Position Overview
As our Wholesale Wine Sales Representative, you will be one of our subject matter experts in our extensive wine catalog, our point of contact with clients, offering tailored recommendations, managing transactions, and supporting all aspects of our wine sales operations including supporting special events. You will report to the owner of the company and collaborate with the sales and events teams to enhance the client experience and exceed revenue targets.
Some Key Responsibilities
- Maintain up to date knowledge of wine catalog and subject matter expert of wine notes and characteristics of the wineries and products
- Research, produce materials and educate clients and potential clients
- Keep precise route books, gain weekly approvals for routes and submit results to management on time
- Attend weekly Sales meetings in person
- Deliver personalized wine consultations, including tasting notes, food-pairing suggestions, and vineyard insights
- Handle customer inquiries, process sales transactions, and ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Maintain precise inventory records, coordinate restocking and vendor communications
- Assist in planning and executing client tastings, educational seminars, and promotional events
- Cultivate strong relationships with new and existing customers to drive repeat business and referrals
- Partner with the sales team to identify upsell opportunities and meet monthly revenue goals and make promotional suggestions
Qualifications
- Must be at least 26 years old
- Mandatory minimum of five years’ experience in wholesale Wine Sales (Required)
- Provide historical history of consistent increasing sales (Required)
- Deep understanding of wine regions, varietals, production methods, and service protocols
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational aptitude and attention to detail
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven setting
- Clean and valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- WSET Level 2, Sommelier certification, or equivalent (preferred)
