What are the responsibilities and job description for the R&D Design and Testing Intern position at BAC (Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc.)?
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Work with BAC's R&D Design & Testing team to support laboratory and testing facility improvement initiatives
- Support the design, build, and commissioning of laboratory and test infrastructure
- Create and update CAD models, layouts, drawings, and project documentation
- Assist with equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, and startup activities
- Collect, analyze, and report project and operational data to support engineering decisions
- Support facility improvement and continuous improvement projects across multiple engineering programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Materials preferred)
- Juniors, Seniors, or MS students preferred
- Comfortable working in hands-on laboratory/testing environment and using shop and power tools
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD required; experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred but not required
- Strong interest in facilities, laboratory infrastructure, continuous improvement, or manufacturing systems
- Proficient in Excel; advanced knowledge of Excel VBA, Matlab, or similar programming language preferred
BAC Hiring Compensation Range $22 - $28 per hour.
BAC provides additional earnings in the form of overtime as applicable under law.
