Description

This position is a part-time hourly position, and the person will be responsible for:

• The pickup, transport and delivery of blood samples, medical specimens, collection supplies, equipment, lab supplies and reports, while providing excellent service to our clients. Most of the day will be spent in a company owned vehicle transporting blood samples in a cold chain supply chain.
• Back-up for customer support team in our front office.

Key Responsibilities

• Successfully complete required company training for the Courier.
• Maintain compliance with all Company and Federal, State and Local regulations.
• Load all necessary supplies needed for distribution to designated customer sites on designated routes.
• Complete sample pick up for all sites on designated route at appointed times.
• Deliver samples to Babson Diagnostics Central Laboratory as per company transport protocols.
• Complete all sorting, reporting, repackaging, and cleaning requirements in a timely manner.
• Handle all specimens and samples in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company protocols.
• Complete pre and post trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
• Safely operate company vehicles and obey all traffic laws.
• Utilize handheld electronic device to manage daily pick up.
• Work directly with dispatcher for additional pick-ups as needed.
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions as needed.
• Engage and build relationships with Babson Diagnostics customers on your route.
• Audit collection sites for compliance with expiration dating.
• Install/deinstall sample preparation devices and related hardware at Collection Partner and Training sites.
• Transport devices safely between Depots and Sites.
• Maintaining a safe and clean physical facility for customers.
• Providing customer support and documentation for Babson’s customers by phone, email, and chat.
• Answer the company’s reception desk and main phone line for visitors and general inquiries.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old with an active driver’s license for a minimum of 2 years.
• Excellent driving record.
• Must be able to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screening test.
• Previous driver/courier experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers and employees. Customer service experience is a plus.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail. Punctuality is critical.
• Familiarity working with and adapting to technology, especially smart phone applications.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds. Infrequently lift 100 pounds as part of a two-person lift during equipment installation/service. Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment. Able to use push carts and pallet jacks carrying weights up to 300 lbs.
• Ability to perform small electromechanical tasks, including connecting cables and pins, use of screwdrivers, and downloading diagnostics to a portable device.
• Ability to read and follow service manuals.
