Job Title: Paralegal/Case Manager
Job Summary:
We are a prestigious law firm specializing in representing victims of sexual abuse, human trafficking, personal injury, product liability, and other forms of victimization. Our commitment to justice and our clients' well-being drives our work. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal and Case Manager to join our team. The Paralegal/Case Manager will be responsible for providing administrative support and managing case files. The ideal candidate will have prior litigation support experience, strong project management skills, experience with document management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and maintain Managing Attorney calendar with deadlines, orders, conferences, appearances, meetings and other activities requiring calendar coordination
- Ensure 100% accuracy of internal docketed deadlines
- Daily monitoring of case and Firm activities, coordinating and updating calendars and identifying next steps for Managing Attorney
- Advise Managing Attorney of approaching deadlines, issues and or next steps, taking the initiative to schedule necessary meetings, gather relevant information or prepare draft correspondence, responses and pleadings when appropriate for the Managing Attorney
- Identify, review and ensure the Firm and Managing Attorney comply with all local court rules
- Prepare communications, manage travel or schedule meetings to ensure the Managing Attorney is highly responsive to clients, courts, co-counsel, witnesses, opposing counsel and others
- Gather, inventory and organize all discovery materials and prepare summary of same as requested
- Review documents, prepare exhibits, draft fact summaries and outlines for depositions or as needed
- Operate, maintain, and update Smart Advocate, training other team members when appropriate
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner
- Electronic filing in federal and state court. Familiar with local rules. File and serve complaints
- Expenses/ Billing. Track all expenses in case management software.
Requirements
- Technologically savvy. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, case management and billing software. Interest in, and desire to learn new technologies. Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Proficiency in using document management systems and file organization
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is preferred
- Familiarity with Lexis/Nexis or other legal research tools is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and on location with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
