Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced dynamic plumbing, fire sprinkler and electrical company located in Venice, Florida. The Senior Accountant should have a background in the construction industry. The position is Monday-Friday, Full-time, on-site based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• 1. Strong understanding of GAAP, percentage of completion accounting and billing, and job costing
• 2. Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements)
• 3. Skilled in developing and managing budgets, WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• 4. Proficient in maintaining and reconciling general and sub-ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
• Handle cash applications and accounts receivable functions, including posting payments, reconciling discrepancies, and managing aging reports
• 5. In-dept knowledge of payroll processing, reporting, recording and job costing
• 6. Familiarity with inventory management practices controls and adjustments
• 7. Capable of reviewing and resolving mis-postings and ensuring transactional accuracy
• 8. Contributes to month & year-end close, including support for external and internal audits
• 9. Monitors cash flow, forecast financial needs, and provide strategic financial guidance
• 10. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to management.
• 11. Participates in the development and implementation of new or improved accounting systems, programs and procedures.
• 12. Supports the establishment and enforcement of internal controls to safeguard company assets

Requirements

• 1. Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction/Manufacturing Industry. (New Construction and Service)
• 2. Bachelors’ degree preferred or a combination of education and experience.
• 3. public accounting experience is helpful but not required,
• 4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles
• 5. Proficiency in ERP systems (Computer Ease)
• 6. Advanced excel, financial modeling, and automation skills
