The Project Developer is responsible for leading the development of winning project strategies from early opportunity to contract execution. This role ensures proposals are competitive, technically sound, and commercially structured to secure profitable contracts while aligning with company objectives.

- Maintain a current understanding of industry trends, customer drivers and competitive positioning to inform pursuit strategies.
- Work with product leads (as applicable) to analyze historical data, develop cost models or other efforts to strengthen proposal efforts.
- Engage with clients to develop relationships, clarify scope, understand needs and effectively advocate for the company’s capabilities and value.
- Lead the development of strategies aligning with technical, commercial and execution approaches.
- Primary decisionmaker for initial responses to proposal requests, assessing position, risk and commercial feasibility.
- Collaborate with Sales to define winning strategies and translate them into actionable proposal plans.
- Identify and engage partners, including EPC teams, where beneficial to project success.
- Drive and manage Bid/No Bid decisions, ensuring sound business judgment, alignment with company priorities and documenting BNB outcomes.
- Work with Proposal Management to support proposal budgets and resource allocation.
- Coach proposal teams on the strategy to develop accurate and compelling responses to RFPs.
- Promote proposal excellence (clear value propositions, technical accuracy and competitive commercial positioning).
- Guide commercial terms by working with legal to balance risk with pragmatism. Obtain management approval for major terms early in the process.
- Develop and execute negotiation strategies in alignment with stakeholders.
- Directs negotiating strategies to close the deal.
- Participate in turnover of the project to the Project Management team.
- Maintain current records within the proposal monitoring system and regularly communicate status and key developments to upper management.
- Strong presentation skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Preference for technical knowledge of applications in the power and industrial steam generation market.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or a related field. Or entrepreneurial / project development experience for 10 years
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
