A-S-H Mechanical Engineer/Designer

The technical specialist will be responsible as a team member supporting all standard proprietary products for the Allen-Sherman-Hoff business unit. They will utilize their mechanical engineering background to support all aspects of the material handling parts and project business. This position is desired to have experience with drafting software to assist in the creation of designs, models and drawings.

• Coordinates with the mechanical designers for all standard product revisions or upgrades.
• Performs mechanical calculations associated with product design changes.
• Provides technical support to the Aftermarket Department. Required support would involve researching previous A-S-H contract installations, providing recommendations for the proper application of A-S-H products, and providing design and/or drawing support as needed.
• Provides technical and design support of larger system proposals.
• Supports execution of ongoing contracts for larger system installations as needed although the primary support duties may be related to the proprietary products and assemblies.
• Participates in customer site visits when needed to trouble-shoot problems and develop solutions.
• Traveling may be required at a level of 10%-20%.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer along with minimum 5 years related work experience.
• Requires low supervision.
• Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently within a team environment in support of company objectives.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data related to products and systems.
