Experience: A solid background in corporate legal support or paralegal work.
Precision: An eagle eye for grammar, formatting, and deadlines.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in e-filing systems, Zoom/Teams, and document management tools.
Resourcefulness: The ability to conduct research and solve problems with minimal "handholding."
Professionalism: High discretion and the ability to interface with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Strong working knowledge of corporate, real estate, leasing, litigation, and compliance‑related legal terminology, processes, and documentation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in an in‑house legal department environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support substantive legal work, including entity management, corporate governance records, court and governmental filings, litigation support, and trademark administration, under the direction of legal counsel.
- Highly organized self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, compliance calendars, and tracking systems in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft routine legal correspondence, proofread legal documents, and communicate professionally with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, courts, and governmental agencies.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review documents for accuracy, formatting, completeness, and compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Proficient in legal operations and administrative functions, including matter and task tracking, calendar management, invoice routing, expense reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related document‑management and collaboration tools.
- Experience with electronic court filing systems, online recording platforms, and governmental filing portals.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy while handling confidential and sensitive legal and business information.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and build effective working relationships with legal, compliance, finance, and operations teams.
- Ability to anticipate needs, identify process improvements, and proactively support the General Counsel in managing legal department operations.
- Notary Public or ability to obtain Notary designation, as required.
Education / Experience:
5 - 7 years of progressively responsible legal support in an in-house legal department or law firm environment preferably with a focus on real estate development, commercial real estate or construction.
