Job Summary (Per AIA)
Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support throughout the entire project. Liaises with the project
manager, architects, and consultants. Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects. Coordinates with
the director and department head on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies. Project size differentiates
this position from the senior level.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the conceptual design process and support the development of creative, functional interior
environments.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of interior programming principles to create spaces that balance
functionality, flow, and purpose-driven design
- Lead the technical development of interior design projects, ensuring alignment with design intent and project
goals.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and consultants to coordinate interior design with overall
project requirements.
- Prepare and oversee the production of detailed interior design drawings, specifications, documentation, and
presentations.
- Performs QA/QC review of project deliverables
- Research and select appropriate materials, finishes in line with project vision and budget.
- Represent the interior design discipline in project meetings and client presentations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior interior designers and interns.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ADA requirements, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with the director or department head to implement appropriate technical solutions and product
strategies.
- Review and redline drawings and documents for quality assurance and consistency.
- Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables related to interior design scope.
- Tracks project hours and team allocations, ensuring time spent aligns with assigned tasks and overall project
budget. Provides updates to the Project Manager or Design Director to support accurate fee tracking and
workload balance.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, materials, and technologies in interior design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Seven or more years of professional experience and bachelor’s degree in interior design required.
- Certification as a licensed professional is preferred but not required.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
