As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dependable, highly organized Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations and ensure projects are completed with excellence.
Job Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring the project is delivered on schedule and according to plans and specifications. This is a field-based role, working full-time at the assigned project site. The Superintendent is the face of BA Barrett Construction in the field and plays a key role in quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily on-site construction activities from mobilization through final completion
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite at all times
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel
- Review plans, specifications, and details to ensure proper installation and construction methods
- Maintain the project schedule, monitor progress, and communicate updates to the Project Manager
- Ensure that the work meets quality standards
- Enforce site safety policies and OSHA requirements; conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Track manpower, deliveries, inspections, and daily progress through daily reports
- Identify potential issues early and communicate solutions to the Project Manager
- Assist with field layout, measurements, and verifying dimensions as needed
- Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations
- Manage punch lists, corrections, and closeout tasks
- Serve as primary on-site contact for owners, architects, inspectors, and vendors
- Keep the jobsite secure
- Maintain good relationships with clients and neighbors
- Support the project team to ensure the project is delivered on time and meets BA Barrett Construction’s high quality standards.

Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a Superintendent or Lead Carpenter/Foreman for a commercial general contractor
- Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, sequencing, and site logistics
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, details, and specifications
- Solid knowledge of interior build-outs, retail, restaurant, office, or renovation projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills—must be able to direct subcontractors effectively
- Proven ability to maintain a safe and well-run jobsite
- Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Basic proficiency in smartphones/tablets, Microsoft Office, and construction apps (Procore, PlanGrid, or similar—optional)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
