Job Overview – Early Intervention ABA Therapist (New York)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist to join our Early Intervention team serving children ages 0–3 under the New York State Early Intervention Program. In this role, you will provide home- and community-based, family-centered services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder.

As an EI ABA Therapist, you will deliver evidence-based interventions aligned with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), supporting children’s development in natural environments. You will collaborate closely with families, service coordinators, and multidisciplinary providers to promote meaningful progress in communication, social-emotional development, and daily functioning.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver ABA-based services in accordance with IFSP goals in home, daycare, or community settings
  • Implement individualized intervention strategies using evidence-based ABA principles appropriate for infants and toddlers
  • Collect and document session data accurately in compliance with EI and agency standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and contribute to assessment of developmental needs (if qualified)
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, service coordinators, and other EI providers to ensure consistency of care
  • Provide parent coaching and education to support carryover of strategies in daily routines
  • Maintain timely and accurate session notes, progress reports, and all required EI documentation in compliance with HIPAA and NYS DOH guidelines
  • Adhere to all New York State Department of Health Early Intervention policies, including service delivery, documentation, and billing requirements
  • Participate in IFSP meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development
  • Complete timely and accurate session notes and documentation

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)
  • Current certification as a Behavior Analyst Certification Board Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) OR Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) (preferred; requirements may vary based on role)
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children with developmental delays or autism spectrum disorder
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, early childhood development, and family-centered practices
  • Experience with data collection, progress monitoring, and EI documentation standards
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to maintain confidentiality of all client records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with families and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently in home- and community-based settings

Pay: $55.00 - $75.00 per hour
