What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator/farm Worker position at B & R Farms, Inc.?
Duties may include: Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Hay production employee that has experience with alfalfa and/or timothy hay farming operations; putting up hay, monitoring irrigation of fields, storage of hay and other job-related duties. A minimum of 3 months experience is required with late model hay production equipment within the last 10 years and horsepower’s over 150. Experience working a full season in haying production is preferred. Will assist in the day-to-day production of alfalfa and grass hay. Hay storage experience is preferred & other related Equipment Operator/Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work.
