We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Line Dancing Class Instructor to join our community arts and recreation team. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive line dance curricula tailored to various skill levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes.
- Lead engaging dance sessions that incorporate choreography, musical interpretation, and performance techniques.
- Manage classroom environments effectively by maintaining discipline, encouraging participation, and ensuring safety.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different age groups, including children, youth, and adult learners.
- Incorporate elements of theater arts, visual arts, or performance skills to enhance the overall dance experience.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their artistic growth and confidence.
- Organize special performances or showcases to celebrate student achievements and promote community engagement.
- Collaborate with other instructors or program coordinators to plan themed events or seasonal dance programs.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate regularly with participants regarding class schedules and updates.
- Utilize skills in choreography, music selection, and creative arts instruction to deliver compelling lessons.
Skills
- Proven experience in choreography, dance instruction, or performing arts education.
- Strong background in curriculum development for arts or movement classes.
- Excellent classroom management abilities with a focus on behavior management and childhood development.
- Experience working with children, youth programs teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of teaching visual & performing arts, including theater experience or teaching instrumental performance.
- Familiarity with musical instruments or music education enhances instructional versatility.
- Skills in sewing or costume design can be beneficial for performance preparation.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for adult education settings while maintaining engagement.
- Competence in photography or multimedia documentation of performances or classes.
- Understanding of ballet, dancing techniques, and creative arts instruction principles.
- Effective communication skills for working with students of diverse backgrounds and ages.
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate class activities and community events.
