Role Description The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Saginaw, MI. The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and executing all inbound and outbound logistics operations. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant processing of shipments and receipts, while coordinating across internal departments and external partners. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with computer systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully participate in and support the B&P Littleford quality management system
- Coordinate and oversee all daily shipping and receiving activities
- Process inbound receipts and verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing documentation
- Prepare and manage outbound shipments, including creation of bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels
- Ensure all shipments comply with applicable regulations and customer requirements
- Maintain accurate records in ERP system
- Communicate with internal teams (purchasing, operations, project/contract management) to align material flow with schedules.
- Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers and freight partners
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new transportation partners to improve cost, service, and reliability
- Monitor shipping performance metrics (on-time delivery, freight costs, damages, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays and claims
- Provide guidance, training, and oversight to shipping/receiving personnel.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations related to shipping and transportation
- Familiarity with Incoterms (e.g. FOB, CIF, DDP)
- Experience with freight carriers, LTL/FTL shipments, and international shipping processes
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field
- 5 years of relevant experience in shipping/receiving or logistics coordination
