Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead our truck and trailer service department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive dealership experience and a strong background in truck and trailer service management, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to oversee daily service operations, manage a team of technicians, and ensure the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and repair are met. The Service Manager will play a key role in driving sales through upselling and effective customer interactions, while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Manage a team of service technicians, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement strategies for upselling services such as oil changes, alignments, tire services, brake repairs, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, suspension work, air brake systems, and other automotive repairs.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by providing excellent customer service, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Handle estimating and service writing to accurately document repairs and communicate recommendations to customers.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies necessary for various automotive services.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately during transactions.
- Stay informed about industry trends such as diagnostics, mechanical knowledge updates, and new repair techniques.
- Keep up with billed hours and make sure technicians meet required billable hours.
Experience
- Proven experience with comprehensive knowledge of semi truck and trailer service management.
- Extensive background in repair service operations including mechanic experience and diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, air brake systems, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair.
- Demonstrated ability in estimating, service writing, and automobile sales.
- Experience in upselling services to enhance revenue while maintaining customer trust.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
- Prior experience managing a team of technicians. This position requires a dedicated professional with mechanical knowledge combined with strong leadership capabilities to ensure operational success and customer satisfaction.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
