Summary/Objective
Field Service Manager manages the field service personnel who perform off-site routine services including installation, maintenance, and repair activities with a focus on electrical and mechanical aspects. Schedules daily employees’ tasks and leads the training of field service representatives. The Field Service Manager handles service contracts, customer POs and time and material (T&M) work from customers. Develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Field Service Manager ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved. The Field Service Manager will provide input to strategic objectives that affect their functional area of responsibility including capital expenses and employee development.
Essential Skills & Functions
· Manage field service team to provide optimum customer service.
· Lead goal setting, skill enhancement and performance reviews activities for field service team.
· Investigate and resolve any issues resulting from substandard performance.
· Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by all team members.
· Designate support and guidance to the team to ensure timely and quality services are provided to customer.
· Develop programs to improve technical and customer service skills of team.
· Address customer enquiries, resolve issues and obtain customer feedback proactively.
· Maintain positive and healthy relationships with various teams to ensure customer service effectiveness.
· Assist in interviewing and hiring new professionals.
· Ensure that the team utilizes resources and are properly trained to meet service objectives.
· Direct team personnel with proper safety procedures including PPE.
· Demonstrate outstanding customer service through maintenance of a high-quality work environment and integrity in all tasks.
· Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
· Complete or review quotes per customer requests, including job walks to ensure accuracy of quote.
· Able to read customer drawings including machine layout, one-line drawings and other customer provided reference material.
· Possess a working knowledge of mechanical repair and fabrication on pumps, gearboxes and motors.
· Knowledgeable in welding and fabrication.
· Perform managerial tasks needed to schedule, prioritize, and complete all work to be performed by department.
· Compile and review all job data for job close out.
· Carry out disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
Physical Demands
· Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, walk, turn, pivot, push, pull, reach overhead and stand for 8 or more hours a day.
· Must display excellent time management skills, be able to work with little or no supervision and communicate regularly.
· Ability to work in varying temperatures indoor/outdoor, depending upon season.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
· Ability to hear well, naturally or corrected.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, typically 7:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. However, Evenings, Overtime, Saturday and Sunday will be required to meet customer demand.
Work Environment
Working environment includes indoor/outdoor areas/sites and will require constant vigilance and care. Frequency in exposure to dust, protective finishes, mechanical parts, electricity, noise, and vibration.
Travel
Local travel is required with the use of a company vehicle, typically 70 miles from the shop. Could be more occasionally.
Requirements, Education and Experience
Must show eligibility to work in U.S.A.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and staff.
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in an industrial setting.
Prefer 10 years relevant work experience.
Prefer 5 years experience in a Field Service Manager role.
Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
