About the Job:

B&G Industries, Inc. is looking for a qualified, passionate Drafting Technician to help design products and support manufacturing as part of our engineering team. In this role, the candidate would have ownership of designing products to unique customer specifications, and providing custom engineered solutions as needed. If you enjoy modeling and drawing in SOLIDWORKS, and watching your designs come to life, this job is for you. The Drafting Technician will be responsible for ensuring products meet engineering quality requirements, and are manufacturable. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for ownership of the product lifecycle including communication with the customer, and other departments including production, inventory. Candidate should have experience utilizing SOLIDWORKS sheet metal and weldments. Hands-on manufacturing experience and being process-oriented is a plus. SOLIDWORKS is preferred but other CAD software users may be considered. Candidates should have a high mechanical aptitude, be skilled in organization, and have an eye for detail. Candidates should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Compensation will vary based on various factors including experience and qualifications. Job Responsibilities:

• Create accurate 3D models, Drawings and BOMs per order specification using SOLIDWORKS CAD
• Communicate with customers on a regular basis
• Perform design modifications based on internal quality, manufacturing, and customer feedback
• Collaborate with manufacturing, inventory and the rest of engineering to ensure high quality and accuracy
• Adhere to B&G standards and best practices
• Storage, organizing and distributing product documentation
• Issuing change notices to production
• Interface with SOLIDWORKS Product Database Management (PDM) system
• Assist with new product development and provide custom engineered solutions as needed
• Assist with continuous improvement projects
• Other Responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, skills and Abilities

• Work independently or part of a team depending on the project needs

• Solidworks or other similar CAD experience
• Sheet metal design experience is preferred
• Weldment design experience is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
• Experience with Monday.com is preferred
• Product Database Management (PDM) experience is preferred
• Lifting up to 15 pounds and sitting for long periods of time

Education: Associates of Science (A.S.) or above preferred, or equivalent experience

Compensation: B&G Industries is a competitive business and compensation will vary based on various factors including experience and qualifications

Job Type: Full Time Monday - Thursday 6am – 4:30 pm (4x 10 hours)

Job Location:

• In-person, on-site in Watertown, South Dakota
• Hybrid or remote opportunities are not available for this position
• Relocation to Watertown, SD 57201 or the ability to commute is required before starting work. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
