About the Job:
B&G Industries, Inc. is looking for a qualified, passionate CAD Drafter Designer to help design products and support manufacturing as part of our engineering team. In this role, the candidate would have ownership of designing products to unique customer specifications, and providing custom engineered solutions as needed. If you enjoy modeling and drawing in SOLIDWORKS, and watching your designs come to life, this job is for you. The CAD Drafter Designer will be responsible for ensuring products meet engineering quality requirements, and are manufacturable. In this role, the designer will be responsible for ownership of the product lifecycle including communication with the customer, and other departments including production, inventory. Minimum 1 years of post-education product design experience utilizing SOLIDWORKS sheet metal is desired. Hands-on manufacturing experience and being process-oriented is a plus. SOLIDWORKS is preferred but other CAD software experience may be considered. Candidates should have a high mechanical aptitude, be skilled in organization, and have an eye for detail. Candidates should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Compensation will vary based on various factors including experience and qualifications. Job Responsibilities:
- Create accurate 3D models, Drawings and BOMs per order specification using SOLIDWORKS CAD
- Communicate with customers on a regular basis
- Perform design modifications based on internal quality, manufacturing, and customer feedback
- Collaborate with manufacturing, inventory and the rest of engineering to ensure high quality and accuracy
- Perform functional and tolerance analysis of products to ensure proper fit, form and function
- Support design of jigs, fixtures and other tooling improvements
- Adhere to B&G standards and best practices
- Storage, organizing and distributing product documentation
- Issuing change notices to production
- Utilize SOLIDWORKS Product Database Management (PDM) system
- Assist with new product development and provide custom engineered solutions as needed
- Assist with and/or lead continuous improvement projects
- Other Responsibilities as assigned

- 1 year post-education product design experience utilizing SOLIDWORKS SHEETMETAL is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
- Automotive wiring experience is a plus
- Experience with Monday.com is a plus
- Product Database Management (PDM) experience is a plus
- CSWPA- Solidworks Sheet metal certification is a plus
- CSWPA-DT Solidworks Drawing certification is a plus
- CSWPA-WD Solidworks Weldment certification is a plus
- Lifting up to 15 pounds and sitting for long periods of time
Education: Associates degree (AA or AS) or equivalent experience preferred
Compensation: B&G Industries is a competitive business and compensation will vary based on various factors including experience and qualifications
Job Type: Full Time Monday - Thursday 6am – 4:30 pm (10 hours), overtime as assigned
