Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to set up and operate press brake equipment to fabricate precision metal components. This position requires strong blueprint reading skills, knowledge of bend calculations, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate press brake machines (manual and/or CNC) to bend and form metal components
· Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job travelers to determine bend sequences and specifications
· Calculate bend allowances, deductions, and tooling requirements based on material type and thickness
· Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings
· Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
· Use precision measuring tools (calipers, angle finders, tape measures) to verify dimensions and tolerances
· Adjust machine settings to maintain consistency and minimize scrap
· Maintain production flow to meet deadlines and prioritize jobs as needed
· Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job status, issues, or improvements
· Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Qualifications:
· 3 years of brake press experience in a metal fabrication environment (required)
· Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
· Solid understanding of bend theory (bend allowance, bend deduction, K-factor)
· Experience working with a variety of materials (steel, stainless, aluminum)
· Ability to hold tight tolerances and produce repeatable quality parts
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Frequent bending, lifting, and handling of metal materials
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications preferred.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
