Field Superintendent
B&G Construction is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to lead the successful execution of residential and commercial construction projects throughout Northern Virginia. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
As the primary leader on the job site, you will coordinate crews, subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries while serving as the key liaison between the field, project management team, and clients. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong construction knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations across multiple active job sites.
- Coordinate subcontractors, schedules, inspections, and material deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, building codes, company standards, and OSHA safety requirements.
- Maintain quality control throughout each phase of construction.
- Monitor project progress, document site activity, and communicate updates to the project management team.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Identify and resolve field issues while keeping projects on schedule and within scope.
Qualifications
- 5 years of construction experience, including at least 2 years in a Superintendent or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management software (Buildertrend preferred).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Northern Virginia.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
