What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at B&F Johnstone?
As a part of the Purchasing Team, you will be responsible for purchasing products to ensure proper stocking levels across the organization while also handling all associated responsibilities.
In addition, Purchasing Agents are responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate dates and pricing on all purchase orders
- Reviewing and resolving billing and shipping issues for orders placed.
- Work with members of the Purchasing and Product Management team to ensure proper maintenance of Purchasing-related data, including: pricing, product descriptions, supersede information, stocking levels, etc.
- Maintaining and developing positive relationships with suppliers
You should have:
- 1 to 2 years in a Purchasing role in wholesale distribution or similar preferred- experience in the HVAC/R industry or multi-branch operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in purchasing systems preferred – experience with Epicor Solar Eclipse & Eterm (or related software, i.e. P21) is a plus.
- Knowledge of business math (e.g. arithmetic, algebra, ratios, margin) and ability to apply mathematical principles to analyze pricing, inventory and distribution scenarios.
- High level of computer functionality with an ability to quickly learn new computer systems - including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
