Woodhaven Recovery is seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Support Specialist to join our residential program for adolescent males in early recovery from substance use disorder. Our holistic model integrates recovery education, academics, clinical engagement, recreation, and family involvement. As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting residents and creating a positive, structured environment that fosters growth and healing.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents, focusing on recovery and mental health.
- Build trust and provide mentorship through daily interactions and structured recovery activities.
- Support the Woodhaven Academy by assisting residents in meeting academic goals.
- Escort and supervise off-site activities such as recreation, AA/NA meetings, and appointments.
- Administer urinalysis, manage medications, and conduct room/personal audits with accurate documentation.
- Communicate with families, clinicians, and team members regarding resident progress.
- Develop and monitor individualized recovery goals, supporting transition planning for education, employment, and living arrangements.
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency support as needed.
- Organize recreational programming, family days, and community events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred.
- Experience in recovery, behavioral health, or adolescent residential programs strongly valued.
- CRS credential a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport residents.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
